Filtering is an important process in maintaining your pool. Without constant filtration, your pool will look like a big bowl of dirt punch. Many things and creatures, big or small, will be floating on it. These things can be a nuisance to swimmers and on top of that, the water can feel icky when it comes in contact with their skin. Basically, the pool is dirty when it is not filtered properly. Even though you ask someone, to use a strainer to remove those floating objects on the surface of the water, it is still not that effective. It is simply because debris, dirt, dust and other organic materials can easily multiply in minutes. This can even be more depending on how much you use your pool.
There may be use of chemical treatment. This is the best way to sanitize your pool. However, it is not everyday that you put chemicals because it can also harm you. That is why it works hand in hand with your filtration system to maintain your water and keep it safe for swimming. In choosing one, it is important to have the right kind of filter for your pebble pool. There are different kinds of pool filters to choose from. However, you need to find that suits your needs and lifestyle.
One of the filters that you can use is what we call a cartridge filters. Just like other kinds of filtration system, this works fine for your pools (especially the small ones). If it works the same as others, why should you opt to buy them? Here are the following reasons:
1. They are inexpensive. The cost of installing them is not as extensive as the other types. Definitely, you will not be scratching your hair when you hear the price.
2. They are low in maintenance. You do not have to do backwashing on them. All you have to do is to take out the filter and hose them down to remove the debris and other residues. Cleaning may not be done in every week or in every month because the filter is big.
3. It can work in any flow rate: high, medium and low. Even so, it can still do its thing. However, it is recommended that effective filtering come from low rate.
4. You can use it in combination of DE powder or sand to make it more effective in filtration.
5. It does not leave any residue in case of failure.
Of course, there are other ways to make your filtration more effective. If you value the beauty of pebble pool then you should know other substances you can use in its filtration. They are what we call flocculants. The bind particles together make them bigger for the filter to catch. In cartridge, particles sizing in between 40 100 microns can be trapped. However, if it goes below 40 it may be hard for it to work. That is why flocculants can be used to be more effective.
