Pebble Pool: The Secrets Of Ionization Revealed On Why It Is Best Used For Sanitization

Contamination can easily occur in swimming pool water, most especially when it is an outdoor pool. Many microorganisms thrive in soil and in air. Therefore, it makes it literally impossible to prevent them from getting in contact with your water. It is a scary thought if they start multiplying in there. Simply because when you dip yourself into that pool, water has various points of entry in your body. It can be your mouth, nose, ears or even wounds. Now imagine swimming on a contaminated body of water. Could you imagine the possible diseases you can get?

You might have experienced swimming on various pools and one thing you can smell for it is the chlorine. True, chlorine is used most of the time to keep your pools free from bacteria and algae. However, some people might not respond well with this substance causing rashes and other irritation, especially when it exists in high levels. What could be a better alternative in keeping your pebble pool free from contamination? If you cannot use chlorine, what could be other ways to keep it clean and germ free?

Do not fret. Various alternative sanitizers have been introduced in the market as a solution for eliminating too much use of chlorine in maintaining pool water. Among of which is commonly used is the Mineral Ionization.

Silver and copper are the common minerals used in this process. However, this does not eliminate the use of chlorine. It still uses it but only in very small amounts of chlorine like around .5ppm but it all depends on the manufacturer. One thing you can guarantee is the amount of chlorine can be relatively low; you cannot even recognize it.

How does it work? Ionization is the process of converting an atom into an ion by allowing negatively or positively charged particles couple with each other. The end result is usually a cation or an anion. Silver and copper are both positive charges, so what they do is they bind with the negative charged particles on your pool creating the following results:

• Prevention of algae proliferation
• Prevention of microbial and viral growth
• Increased size of particles resulting to optimal filtration
• Safer water for swimming

The ionization process is facilitated with electrolysis, wherein an electric current is used to form the copper and silver ions. They work well than pure chlorine simply because they do not easily dissipate. Their presence does not normally change the ph of water of your pebble pool because of the fact that these minerals are commonly found in it. On top of that, you will enjoy a more affordable way of maintaining your pools because it cuts your maintenance to weekly rather than daily. You also do not have to spend much for chemicals because this device alone is very effective in sanitizing. One more thing, you can also avoid repairs because copper and silver are considerably less harmful than chlorine. Therefore, it is safe for vinyl, plaster, tiles and other finishes aside from your pebbles.
