You can either submit your website to those directories manually, or pay someone to do it for you.
Submitting your site to those website directories is an excellent way to get quality one-way links pointing to your websites. If you pay attention to those online directories, you will see there many of them have a high amount of page rank and those sites have been there for several years already.
Regarding to how to determining what a good link is vs. what a bad link is, here are 2 criteria you need to look at it:
1. The age of the website linking to you
2. The page rank of the website linking to you
As I mentioned earlier, many of these directories are old websites and have a high page rank, which gives them more authority and power in the search engines.
So simply put, if you want your website get higher ranking, one-way link method is a good way to go.
