Many of us may have experienced at one time or another coming home from a date feeling that we have met "the one" and yet never receiving a call for a follow up date. When on a date, here are some hints or signs to tell if what you are feeling is just totally one-sided.
A strong indication that you and your date are on the same track is through body language and gestures. A positive response is when your date leans his body forward as he or she listens to you speak. When your date maintains eye contact, tilts his or her head and nods translate to him or her being interested in what you are talking about. If you find your date looking out somewhere or crossing arms on his or her chest, it's a signal that he or she is bored and not interested.
There is bound to be flirting from both sides if a date is going well as expected. You can always notice your date to be always smiling, doing lingering eye contact, light touch or brush of the arm, elbow or leg. Grooming behavior that includes brushing the hair, retouching of lipstick, fixing the creases on the clothes and others are signs of being interested. Men tend to stand broad with their shoulders thrown back when flirting while women do their crossing or uncrossing of the legs that they somehow unconsciously do.
Keep an eye though on sexual flirting that signifies interest only in getting you into bed instead of establishing a romantic relationship.
The drop off after the date is done is another tell tale sign if the date turned out successfully. If your date merely drops you off at the curb and then speeds off into the night, well you can perfectly understand not to expect as much as a return call after that. However, if you notice that your date lingers on the doorstep and even gives you a goodnight kiss for a wonderful night then sparks probably are flying and you can likely expect date number two to be just around the corner.
When your date makes a sort of suggestion for another date like "Are you doing anything tomorrow night" this is a positive sign that he or she is interested in seeing you again and getting to know more about you.
If a mere shake of the hands or a goodnight hug is given, then maybe your date is not romantically interested in you at all. Oh well, you can't always expect everything to turn out how you want them to be.
