When summer is over, parents know for certain that the time for festivities is not even close to being over with for the year. They know that there will be back to school parties and fundraisers on the school calendar and these are events that parents and students like to attend because they are simply a lot of fun.
Many teachers will announce the theme for the first class party about a week after classes start. The children look forward to going back to school because there is always something being planned that will be fun to do. The teacher might even leave the food selections up to the class to make and assign several students the responsibilities for making decorations for the first class party.
The more formal parties will be organized by the administration office at the school. Every year they must manage several events that serve as fundraising events for new athletic equipment or athletic wear that will be worn by all students at some point during their time at the school. Many school board budgets have shortchanged teachers on the supplies that are needed for class, and some of the funds that are gained from the fundraisers are spent buying maps, visual aids and other training tools that can be used to educate classes at many levels.
Parents do not mind attending the fund raisers at all because they know that they are always planned to include the best of everything. The parents have the opportunity to enjoy symphonic band music and perhaps a little bit of dancing on a makeshift dance floor in the school gymnasium. The parents do not mind contributing funds that they know will be used for their child's education.
All of the school parties and fund raising efforts are meant to create unity at the school. Students learn to have a good time with friends and might begin to realize that going back to school was the best thing that they had done all year. They know that they have learned a lot even in the short time since they went back to school and they begin to look forward to other school parties during the year.
Some of the school parties will be remembered for a long time. When students go back to school for their senior year, they know that they have a senior prom to look forward to and they might have spent a lot of time talking about the prom with their closest friends during the summer break.
The parties allow students to close out their school days with memorable moments and take into account the friendships that they have formed that will last a lifetime. For this reason, seniors really look forward to going back to school because at the end of the school year they will be able to get a start on a whole new life.
