5. Make sure you join bookmarking sites that are popular. While I don't recommend spamming social bookmarking sites, it's okay to use them and submit your best post once in a while as long as you are aware of these sites and that it is not a guarantee that you'll get visitors, but you are giving them a chance. If you do obtain a lot of traffic, it's usually just in the spur of the moment and doesn't last long; but, you do get some new readers and possibly more bloggers linking to you. All of these incoming links will help with search engine optimization.
So go ahead and sign up to some of these social bookmarking sites and start increasing your website or blog exposure to potential readers.
