These are the people who set out to accumulate wealth, with money and success being the sole motive, who have succeeded in permanently achieving that goal.
With this, most fail dismally, without ever coming close to their images of King Midas and his gold. The large majority of the remaining people, who temporarily appear to have succeeded, are not able to retain their wealth. Because it does not bring them a trace of genuine happiness, inevitably their inner depression causes them to make some miscalculated move that eventually results in the loss of their wealth in various ways.
Those rare few who do not fail to accumulate, and who do not experience the misfortune of losing their wealth, end up as pathetic creatures, full of abject misery, looking and behaving like a person who is so obsessed with their riches.
One good example is a person, who, regardless of his enormous fortune, refused to pay the ransom of his grandsonís life until the kidnappers sliced off the boyís ear and mailed it to him. To end up like these rare few who manage to hang on it, but cannot take it with them when they go, could hardly be the desire of any sane person who perceived the certain future of such avarice.
When the secret of massive success and riches is ignored, whether through greed or through ignorance of the natural law, the money and success gained, either gradually dwindles away, or is accumulated to the level of stagnation within the spirit of the one who hoards it, bringing all of the accompanying miseries of the fear of loss.
