When it comes to setting up an online business that will provide a sustainable income, many people dive in before they are properly prepared. It is common sense that to be a scientist, a doctor, a software engineer, a teacher or any one of thousands of professions, there are prerequisites. There are principles and skills you must learn before you can be successful. You don t just jump right in and suddenly become king (or queen) of the world.
The exact same logic applies to the online marketing and affiliate industry. There are certain individuals (who are trying to sell you something) out there, who d have you believe it s Easy Money and the whole process requires no more than belief and the purchase of their ebook.
From a certain perspective, it IS a walk in the park compared to what you have to put up with in the world of being a wage slave. In most cases, working a normal job means you are ruled by a clock, and ultimately you are contributing towards someone ELSE S happiness and abundance. However, to actually make Online marketing work for you, there are principles you have to follow.
The vast majority of people who enter online marketing will not make a cent in profit. This is a cold, hard fact of reality. Juxtaposed to this, there are people who will make 6 figure monthly incomes. What is going on here?
There are a myriad of reason, and here are a few examples:
* Quality of your affiliate website and landing pages
* Knowledge of Search Engine Optimization
* The support given to you by the Merchant whose product you are promoting
* Sensible budgeting abilities
* Effective keyword strategies
* Diverse yet targeted advertising
etc, this list could fill and entire book in itself.
But one essential aspect to the whole puzzle is to be sure you have Passion for the company, products or service from which you expect to make money. Passion in this sense implies that you have first of all researched the company and honestly respect the quality of its products or services. Would you actually buy this product or service? Why or why not? Would you recommend them to a loved one? In the end it is all about delivering VALUE. By promoting this product online, are you adding value to peoples lives? Will they, in 1 month time, say to themselves
I m glad I bought that
or, will it be,
I got scammed .
Almost every relationship we form, whether it be personal or business, is based on Value. If we do not derive a sense of value from the relationship, we will not have the enthusiasm to continue with it. If you do not believe you deliver value in your online marketing efforts, they will not be sustainable. Every sale you make is performed by a real person with real desires and needs, don t ever forget that.
There are exceptions to every rule and many online entrepreneurs are so good at what they do, that they ignore passion and delivering value because they could sell ice, snow and seal fur to Eskimos. Note: The end goal is actually to get to the point where you can sell just about anything online. That is a skill, and a definite advantage to you in the long run. However, when you are a newbie and just starting out, sidestepping delivering value could prove fatal to your business aspirations.
The reason for this is that Internet marketing work is typically not all that intellectually difficult or time consuming. However, it does take motivation fueled by Passion to GET YOU OFF THE GROUND WITH A SUSTAINED EFFORT. Read that last sentence again. When you start out, it is like pushing a huge snowball up a steep hill. If you have enough enthusiasm and passion, you will get to the top at which point, you can let the snowball roll down the other side under it s own steam, gathering size as your profits increase. It becomes in a sense, self sustaining.
Remember, there are many steps you must make before you launch your career in Internet Marketing. However, if you don t first cover the aspect of being passionate about a company and its products and services, and ultimately delivering VALUE, all of those other highly critical steps may just end up causing a great deal of frustration, instead of bringing you success.
