What to Do If Your Weight Loss is Stagnating

You have been losing weight for a while… and all of a sudden the numbers on the scale do not fall any further. This might go on for weeks and weeks… It’s named a “plateau” and is not very enjoyable. So, what can you do to get yourself back on track to losing weight using natural, healthy weight loss?

When we do not get progress, a strategy often followed is “try harder”. Sadly, this often does not work out and all the additional energy is lost. The cause for this is: If something is not working, and you are doing more of it, you are wasting your energy. You d better of doing things differently instead of doing more of the same.

Have a look at my top 5 list of what to do for stagnating weight loss:

1. Examine your motivation. Whatever you are doing for an extended period of time, chances are your motivation is going down. Get yourself back on course.

2. Are you stressed out? Get sufficient rest. Do you have adequate breaks during the day? If you need to lose weight permanently applying sound weight loss, the tension level is often forgotten.

3. Try natural detox leading automatically to losing weight permanently. Plan to get only salads, veggies and soups for 2 days in a row. As raw and as organic as possible. Your body will be cleaned out naturally by the extra fiber. The fiber acts like a broom cleansing your colon. And get enough water, you need to flush your kidneys so they are able to filter your blood as efficiently as possible.

4. Step up your protein consumption. If you have more protein in relation to carbs it will cause you losing weight quicker. You will feel full earlier while eating too, what reduces your calorie consumption. An excellent combination is lean protein (chicken, fish) with salad, or generally fiber rich food with lean sources of protein.

5. Start strength training. There is no need to go to a gym for that. To start, buy a couple of dumbbells, look up simple exercises on the net and start with easy weights.

To get your weight loss going again, try this: Rank the 5 strategies outlined above and chose the 2 most important ones, the 2 that will give you the progress in your weight loss program. Then concentrate on integrating these into your day to day life. Don’t become distracted, stay focused.

Successful weight loss has a lot to do with sustainability you need to be able to do the things necessary long term. Short term fixes won’t make you lose weight permanently. Instead, you’ll be disappointed and lose momentum again what we want to avoid. You need to get going and enjoy yourself in the process of losing weight.

For a weight loss program to be working you will have to observe what works best for you we are all unique. You might consider a customized plan that looks at your special situation and you need to make sure it fits into your life style.
