When I entered the world of home based business and online marketing I looked long and hard at what I would do. After finally deciding on a business and joining up I was as keen as mustard to sit here and watch my fortune grow, after all that’s what they said would happen. What I didn’t realise was that you need to put a lot of hard work into getting people to see what you have to offer and enticing them into becoming a part of your organisation or to buy your products.
Although most online business schemes give their members plenty of training and advice on how to generate leads and close sales it is still down to the budding home based entrepreneur to put in the hard work. The problem for me was where to start given the hundreds of traffic and lead generation methods that are available online and the differing opinions that you come across from the experts in the game.
To me the governing factor was that I didn’t have an endless supply of money to spend on ads or search engines so the little I did spend on Google and Yahoo was of no great help. I’m not saying that these don’t work just that with a limited budget in a very competitive market my success was minimal.
This situation prompted me to look for other methods that were inexpensive or even better free. By simply searching for free online advertising I found a whole heap of free advertising sites, link and banner exchanges and traffic exchanges.
Placing free ads although they obviously don’t cost anything I find to be a pretty hit and miss type affair as you really have to take what you can get and your ads are in there with thousands of others in the cue. I often wonder how many people actually look at the free ad sites and judging by the number of views on some of my ads I think maybe not many.
I don’t know about others but I find it difficult to sit for hours on end surfing on traffic exchange sites and I wonder how many people that do the same really take any notice of the sites that they see whilst clicking away the hours. But then I suppose they must work to a certain degree as there are thousands of them to choose from and all claim to give the best results.
One thing I am finding both quite enjoyable and useful is social networking. Since becoming a member of 3 of the most popular sites I have picked up some really helpful advice and been able to pitch my opportunity to like minded people. For anyone that is new to online marketing and home based business I would highly recommend the social networking scene as a great way to learn from other people’s experience, share ideas and just plain old get know some new people.
Putting the message out via blogs is another one that seems popular and I must say is also something I have enjoyed learning about. Although I am by no means an author of any great substance I find my blogs are slowly gathering some following. It is quite satisfying to see that there are people that are interested in what you have to say. It is still early days but I think that eventually my blogging efforts will bare fruit as in interested visitors to my sites.
The latest and most exciting traffic tool I have tried seems to be a real winner. This is a new site that says it guarantees more converting web visitors and online advertising with very little effort or cost. So I decided to give it a try. On this site, you create links and ads, for the links you simply enter any URL links you use into the generator and it transforms them into viral links. You create ads for anything you want to promote using the ad generator, which is very easy to use. You can create as many links and as many ads as you like. After you've created at least 1 link and 1 ad you can start to generate traffic. You just use and promote the new link instead of the original source link you had. Every time the new link is clicked, the page loads followed by a cool slide-up ad window at the bottom. It displays an ad plus an image with your affiliate link that goes back to the site. So if anyone clicks the image they see the site, and if they signup they become your referral. It's a great viral feature because you can build referrals without even trying to just by using the site.
Since starting to use this system my site traffic and conversion rate has increased remarkably, I would recommend this method of traffic generation to anyone that is struggling to get their online marketing business up and running.
