Alley Springs are located in south central Missouri offering lots of camping and hiking trails. Tail of Tears State Park uses this line and depicts the march of Cherokees from Tennessee to Oklahoma. A former railroad, Katy Trail State Park stretches 185 miles of hiking and cycling beautiful trails featuring natural and cultural heritage. It is being extended to 230 miles of trails.
A daily span of 96 million gallons of water passing across, it is a delight to watch water roar at a high speed at Bennett Spring State Park. The dining lodge and the store house is open from March to Oct. but the nature’s park is open all year around. Bollinger Mill is a self supportive, 140ft long and one of the four covered bridges in the state. A corn meal is provided if you visit this place and it is located next to grist mill. An old historic village has a tourist destination called Arrow Rock, home to an artist, George Caleb Bingham. It was constructed in 1834 and Nathan Boone Homestead was the home of Col. Nathan Boone an early developer and more research is being carried out to know the details and this place provides few amenities.
Big Spring is located on scenic Ozark National Scenic Riverways offering all water activities. An area that’s popular for off road vehicles, St. Joe State Park is located in the heart of old lead belt. It is Missouri’s third largest park offering all picnicking and exciting facilities.
With 5 miles of trails available, Lake Wappapello State Park is located some miles north of Poplar Bluff. Good for picnicking. With many miles of shoreline, Lake of the Ozark State Park has an airport near it making transactions easier for its visitors. It offers lots of amenities.
Ozark National Scenic Riverways was created by congress in 1964 for preventing 134 miles of Current and Jacks Fork Rivers. Some of the most scenic streams fall into this river making it popular for anglers.
Swan Lake National Wildlife Refuge offers specified hunting and fishing at specified times. It has a huge area of 10795 acres and quite a good number of wildlife to watch.
August A. Busch Memorial Conservation Area offers fishing, hiking and hunting. South of I 44 lays the Mark Twain National Forest with hundreds of miles trails for biking, hiking, riding and fit for all terrain vehicles (ATV).
You can do fishing, sightseeing, bird watching and hunting too. Ted Shanks Conservation Area is located South of Hannibal, wildlife and marsh areas where hunting is allowed only according to seasons. Many more outdoor activities are also available in Missouri like biking, birding; cave exploring, golf, horse riding, canoeing and kayaking.
In Mississippi you will find St. Louis Train Station which is a real local landmark in the recent history of American Trains and tracks. You will see when you get there that it it is on of the biggest railway terminals of not only the USA but in the entire world. First refurbished and properly built in 1894 and then lately redone only just during 1985 and it has an almost party like ambience with all the travelers milling around in this place with a wide range of shopping for you to choose from.
